I wrote this orginally about just having Country Pride, and helping those that need a hand, Willie took it and changed the words around some and added the music
Lyrics
AMERICAN COUNTRY PIRDE (VERSE 1) He’s got two acres and Double Wide Sitting at the end of a Blacktop Road An old Ford Pickup Truck and a pit bull with one eye A Vietnam Sticker tells everybody when he rides (Chorus) He’s the kind of man who’ll stand up and fight for what he believes He’s quick to help his neighbors are strangers in need Think God there’s a lot like him everyday that fight and die Defending American Country Pride. (Verse 2) He lost an Uncle in Normandy He saved the medal of Honor that he won Posthumously He’s got a great big ten foot American Flag And every year on Veterans Day it flies so high (Chorus) He’s the kind of man who’ll stand up and fight for what he believes He’s quick to help his neighbors are strangers in need Think God there’s a lot like him everyday that fight and die Defending American Country Pride. Verse 3 He believes in one God And this Great County Every night he says a little Prayer For the boys and Girls Chorus Who’d stand up and fight for what they believe His quick to help his neighbor or strangers in need If he could he’d be there and stand up by their side He’d fight for American Country Pride And He’d die for American Country Pride.
