I am a solo singer/songwriter. My music is mostly soft although my songs could easily be performed in mostly any style.
For me, it's all about the song. That mysteriously magical thing that happens when a lyric is married to a melody. The writing process is invigorating and exciting while simultaneously being exasperating and difficult. It is that moment when music is being composed and a lyric is being written when I am truly the "artist at his easel." The creative process continues when the song is brought into the studio to be recorded because, as in writing, the production and arrangement processes also have their own sets of challenges. Those challenges are always dictated by the song itself and the task at hand at that moment is to be true to the song and carefully craft a recording that reflects what the song is about. Part three, for me, is to then take that song and perform it. It is the purest form of displaying this work of art called a song and is the only place where the magic of the creation is reflected back to me from a room full of interested listeners. And at that moment it is only as magical as the audience makes me believe it is. My CDs are all available on CDBaby.com.

Lyrics
Seven fathers, seven sons And these are the thoughts of everyone “Daddy, I’ll make you proud. I’ll be everything you want me to be.” And the first father knelt on the ground And he said, “Smile for me” Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm The second father Told the second son “Don’t take anything from anyone. People are led by greed. They’ll ask for your heart then they’ll leave you to bleed.” And the first father walked to the second father Whispering, “Smile for me.” Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm The third father Held the third son “Let’s be each other’s best friend above everyone. Daddy I’ll find a wife. And I’ll have a son to call my own. But I’ll be your friend forever Dad, If you leave me alone.” Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm Generations move on and on and on and on Generations move on The fourth father And the fourth son Learned to live and breathe By the law of the gun “Remember to hold your aim. Shoot first and then let them try to explain.” And the first father looked from the clouds And he said, “Cry for me.” Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm The fifth father And the fifth son Neither one knew of the other one They met when the son was twenty-eight His face grew red and his heart filled with hate And the fifth father fell to the ground From the agony Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm Generations move on and on and on and on Generations move on Generations move on and on and on and on Generations move on The sixth father And the sixth son What a joy to see for everyone Until some jerk driving drunk on Christmas Day Ran them both down as they carried their sleigh And their blood in the snow on the ground was their only legacy Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm The seventh father And the seventh son Looked down and saw the garden overrun “Daddy I’ll make you proud. I’ll go down for you and I’ll weed it out.” And the first Father’s tears hit the ground When the Son said, “I’ll die for Thee.” Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm Mm-mm-mm
