A song that wonders if mankind might finally decide to live in peace if the end of the world seemed imminent.

I am a solo singer/songwriter. My music is mostly soft although my songs could easily be performed in mostly any style.
For me, it's all about the song. That mysteriously magical thing that happens when a lyric is married to a melody. The writing process is invigorating and exciting while simultaneously being exasperating and difficult. It is that moment when music is being composed and a lyric is being written when I am truly the "artist at his easel." The creative process continues when the song is brought into the studio to be recorded because, as in writing, the production and arrangement processes also have their own sets of challenges. Those challenges are always dictated by the song itself and the task at hand at that moment is to be true to the song and carefully craft a recording that reflects what the song is about. Part three, for me, is to then take that song and perform it. It is the purest form of displaying this work of art called a song and is the only place where the magic of the creation is reflected back to me from a room full of interested listeners. And at that moment it is only as magical as the audience makes me believe it is. My CDs are all available on CDBaby.com.

Lyrics
Reporting from the Capitol Reporter Robert Pete The only news here Is the President can't sleep The fear is much too strong for anyone to rest The lines are open now For any last requests--- And it seems a little funny now How all of us are friends Don't you think it's a little late So near the end? We're gathered here to worship Led by Reverend Bobby Blair May we have a moment's silence As we bow our heads in prayer The fear is much too real We can't afford to doubt There's nothing man can do So God's our last chance out And it seems a little funny now This quickly changing trend So many people now believe So near the end Reporting from the Orient Reporter Ho Lai Ching The feelings are the same out here The whole world's in this thing The fear is much too big For anyone to hate The earth is peaceful now As toward the end we wait And it seems a little funny now How all of us are friends Don't you think it's a little late So near the end? And it seems a little funny now How all of us are friends Don't you think it's a little late So near the end?

Very moving and thought-provoking song, Larry. Love the melody, the vocal, the guitar, the intenseness of the message. How appropriate that the picture you used for this song is the picture you painted of the Dade Battlefield? A very powerful message is stated in your song ...
