Story behind the song
I was playing my accordion one day and wanted to play my guitar so I could write a song for my accordion that would utilize my guitar and my accordion and it had to be a waltz so here it is!
Lyrics
She used to like Goin' down to this place By the river We'd sit for hours Just watching the boats passing by An accordion man Would play waltzes And we'd dance together And we swore we'd come back for some more For the rest of our lives To the Squeezebox Cafe That's what she'd say She'd close her eyes and be mesmerized When that squeezebox was played Her heart would swell And I loved that look on her face At the Squeezebox Cafe She used to laugh uncontrollably At inhibition She used to say "Let it flow It'll come naturally" An accordion man playing oom-pahs While hopefuls are fishin' And she'd spin in the moonlight Her skirt lifting up in the breeze At the Squeezebox Cafe That's what she'd say She'd close her eyes and be mesmerized When that squeezebox was played Her heart would swell And I loved that look on her face At the Squeezebox Cafe At the Squeezebox Cafe That's what she'd say She'd close her eyes and be mesmerized When that squeezebox was played Her heart would swell And I loved that look in her face At the Squeezebox Cafe The Squeezebox Cafe That's what she'd say She'd close her eyes and be mesmerized When that squeezebox was played Her heart would swell And I loved that look on her face At the Squeezebox Cafe
