This song was meant as a entrence to CBC's cirkus theme in may 2012, but we didn't manage to finish the song in time. Holger did most of the lyrics for this one, while I composed the song.
The fool in the clown.
They all stare at me, but they don’t really see me.
They forgot how to laugh and need me to bring it back.
So I stumble and I fall - I play the fool so well
But deep inside my heart is bleeding
Then one day I cracked, the tears were for real.
Please listen - I begged – but they laughed on.
I grabbed the microphone, and I screamed at the crowd:
“Okay I’m a clown – but I’m proud!”.
I am a clown – in this old town.
And you laugh when I cry, and never ask why.
I dance around – fall to the ground
And it hurts in my soul cause I know
You don’t know
That I’m a fool inside a clown
The show must go on – evening after evening
My own life – my world – stopped
Spinning long ago
While the life outside my tent
Keeps changing every minute
Then all I do - is keep on falling
Stand straight have no fear - Watch as I fall
Keep laughing - my dear - The clown is here
Your worries will be gone - I’ll make them disappear
As least for as long - as you are here.
I am a clown – in this old town
And you laugh when I cry - You never ask why
I dance around - Fall to the ground
But please understand there’s a man
Inside this clown
(Solo)
I am your clown – in this old town
And you laugh when I cry - You never ask why
I dance around - Fall to the ground
Just please understand there’s a man
Yes there’s a man
Yes there’s a man inside this clown
